Romain is a partner and leads ORWL’s litigation practice. He defends clients in their most sensitive financial and criminal disputes.
Expertises
A specialist in complex financial and criminal litigation involving crypto-assets, Romain appears before both civil and criminal courts. He has particular expertise in asset freezes, assets recovery, and financial and technological fraud. A former judicial assistant and lawyer at a firm practising before the Conseil d’État and the Cour de cassation, he combines technical knowledge of financial and tech-related matters with recognised procedural expertise.
He represents an international client base of exchanges, brokers, custodians, DeFi protocols, crypto funds, banks, as well as executives and investors—providing strategic pre-litigation advice through courtroom advocacy. He has developed unique expertise in asset seizure proceedings in France and abroad, relying on a trusted network of partners before key jurisdictions.
Romain also teaches at university level and provides initial and continuing legal education to lawyers, judges, and financial or digital investigators. He regularly contributes to podcasts and writes for leading legal publications such as Dalloz and LexisNexis, as well as the general press (Le Monde, Les Échos, The Times).
